We are specialized in unique nucleic acid chemistry-based technologies, which can be applied to a wide range of medicines. We rationally design and synthesize "super nucleic acids", suitable for nucleic acid-based medicine such as aptamer and siRNA. Some of our nucleoside analogs are available as conventional small compounds, useful to conquer cancers and viral infections. Our "super nucleic acids" provide promising and innovative solutions to pharmaceutical industry.
4'-Thionucleotides are some of our "super nucleic acids", available (PCT/JP2003/010576). These compounds could be highly applicable for clinical use due to their unique characteristics, including nuclease resistance and good thermodynamic stability.

2'-Deoxy-2'-methylidenecytidine (DMDC) is a potent antitumor nucleoside analogue. DMDC is resistant to cytidine deaminase, which inactivates deoxycitidine analogues, and proved to be effective in killing tumors with elevated cytidine deaminase activity. In this context, DMDC would be a promising drug for various types of tumors with high cytidine deaminase activity.
